Abstract

ABSTRACT Starting from the experience of seeing and observing that if the ancient Balinese relief contemplated in depth all very unique shape, having impression of humor or parody, has a moral value or virtue message. Form shown to enrich the imagination of contemporary phenomena in society such as delinquency, juvenile delinquency, the effects of modernity on patterns of community life and others. The purpose of the creation of works of art is that art lovers will want to realize the existence and preservation of ancient Bali relief because it is one of the assets or valuable cultural heritage. Expected benefits of this paper is to broaden the observer or the artist that things are old, fragile or obsolete, it can provide the imagination in art promotes creativity. To assist in the creation process, used review sources that come from books of literature and other artists. The process of creating these paintings, beginning with the stage of exploration is done through direct observation, documentation and literature. The next stage of the experiments carried out with some trial and the last one is the establishment phase of applying texture or paint a false color combined with imaginative relief. To realize the beauty of twelve paintings by ancient Balinese relief created by the combination of artificial texture with imaginative colors with decorative style. Reliefs of ancient Bali are packed in such a way as, changing the structure of the shape and composition, will produce a new image associated with the phenomenon of contemporary, without losing its old image contained in it.
