Abstract
Abstract
Prima Medika Hospital, which has existed since 2002, is classified as a
unique place for health care. Sophisticated medical supporting equipments and
top medical specialists are the standard which is applied there. Besides, the
warmth of the care and the friendliness of every staff is proponent in the process
of patient’s treatment. In effort of the promotion, each of the media’s visual
communication has a different role and function, as for a promotion strategy for
the hospital. Therefore, it needs conceptual and visual planning which is
appropriate with the ethic code of hospital’s promotion. The design is purposed
for getting media of visual communication which is effective, communicative, and
suitable with the criteria of designing, for completing Prima Medika Hospital’s
promotion activity and also useful for adding the promotional media, and at once,
for introducing the hospital to the society.
The data which was obtained from the observation, interview, literary, and
documentation at Prima Medika Hospital is adjusted with the promotional
strategy, by the research method. Teori which was applied in this study was Mass-
Communication Theory which was proposed by Dominick and Uchayana. Then,
the data was processed by the analysis of descriptive qualitative and synthesis
until the basic concept of design was acquired.
“Hospitality” is the relevant basic concept which is used in designing
process for the design of visual communication for the promotion of Prima
Medika Hospital. The concept is suitable with the friendliness and warmth which
is already owned by each doctors and staff in Prima Medika Hospital. Those
characteristics are important for the comfort of medical process which would be
received by every patient. In designing process, it is already determined the
precise and appropriate media, there are Acrylic Sign (Phone Number Extension),
Brochure, Interactive CD-ROM, Paper Bag, Roll-Up Banner, Room Directory
Book, Stationery (Block Note, Pencil and Eraser), Pennants, Website, and
Catalogue.
