Abstract
Semut adalah serangga eusosial, dengan koloni dan sarang-sarangnya yang teratur beranggotakan ribuan semut per koloni. Koloni semut kadangkala disebut "superorganisme" karena koloni-koloni mereka yang membentuk sebuah kesatuan. Kehidupan koloni semut dapat dicirikan dari perilakunya yang selalu menyempatkan diri untuk saling bersentuhan saat bertemu dengan sesamanya dengan saling menyentuh antena sebagai cara mereka berkomunikasi. Selain karena ketertarikan pencipta terhadap prilaku dan karakteristik semut, ada hal yang lebih personal yang pencipta rasakan terkait dengan hewan semut ini. Rasa yang personal tersebut ada dalam wilayah sepiritual. Menurut cerita orang tua pencipta, kelahiran pencipta terkait dengan sebuah pura yang ada di Tampaksiring yakni pura semut yang terletak di banjar Maniktawang. Menurut ayah dan ibu pencipta, sosok yang berenkarnasi kembali pada diri pencipta terlahir karena adanya ritual nunas (memohon) di pura tersebut. sehingga secara personal pencipta menyimpulkan mungkin faktor inilah yang secara bawah sadar mempengaruhi ketertarikan pencipta pada sosok semut.
Dalam mewujudkan tema serta ide-ide pada karya seni lukis, melalui proses penjajagan, percobaan, persiapan, pembentukan dan penyelesaian akhir. Dalam penciptaan karya seni lukis, mengorganisir kaidah prinsip-prinsip seni serta unsur-unsur seni rupa yang dipadukan dengan teknik jipratan sesuai kemampuan yang ditekuni selama proses belajar, dengan penerapan warna untuk mencapai kesan artistik dibalik objek maupun latar belakang karya. Dari ide Semut dijadikan metafora dalam kehidupan masyarakat hanyalah bentuk simbolis, dengan sebuah ungkapan kritik sosial, yang dituangkan dalam bentuk seni lukis mengarah kepada gaya surealisme. Diterapkan dengan teknik transparan, jipratan dan teknik dusel. menggunakan cat Acrylic dengan memakai kuas, dilakukan tahap demi tahap secara menyeluruh, agar dapat tercipta karakteristik objek Semut serta objek pendukung lainya. Dalam perwujudan objek, di ungkapkan melalui gagasan serta imajinasi, sehingga dapat merepresentasikan ungkapan motif Semut serta situasinya ke dalam karya seni lukis.
Hasil dari penciptaan ini berupa 12 karya seni lukis, dalam wujud karya yang dibuat mengandung beberapa aspek, baik aspek gagasan serta konsep yang dikenal dengan aspek ideoplastis dan wujud karya secara fisik meliputi hasil dari teknik penggarapan elemen visual dengan segala aturan seni lukis disebut dengan aspek fisikoplastis dari hasil proses penciptaan ini semuanya bertemakan semut sebagai objek utama. yang diungkap secara imajinatif
