Abstract

Particularly in Bali, there are 4 local stations television such as TVRI Bali, Bali TV, Kompas TV Dewata, and BMCTV. Overall, those four local television stations provide a wide selection of programs that are dominated by programs of social and cultural life of the Balinese people from different aspects of life in terms of content and visual. But, it seems so difficult for us to see the offered program, which used Balinese language as main language within the program. Based on the fact, this research is focused to analyze profiles of local TV stations in Bali, programs with Balinese language as it main language, social values within the programs using Balinese language as it main language and also to discover factors which influenced the program with Balinese language as main language, and those analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method. The conclusion stated that general information of each local stations television is represented by their profile; program using Balinese language can be categorized into four groups such as: News, Religi, Tradisional Art and Entertainment; Social values found within program using Balinese language are creativity, preservation, education, religi and entertainment; Factor influenced towards program using Balinese language are government policy, ideology, creativity, community and globalization.
