Abstract

Abstract It is stunned to see a chance at Mangkunegaran Palace as seen at composing of Bedhaya Suryasumirat dance because of its unusual. Bedhaya dance like the Bedhaya Suryasumirat should have been composed and performed by a court (Kasunanan Surakarta or Kasultanan Yogyakarta) not by a castle like Mangkunegaran. Delving a deep research, it is a fact that spirit to be release himself from the court’s political band had already begun very long time ago. In spite of the spirit to be decratic and the moment of Indonesia’s independence, the response against the social change had plait together to make the Mangkunegaran Castle be a cultural center and move himself away from court’s hegemony.
