Abstract

A development of era was always followed by lifestyle development that created various forms of new cultures, which were always moving and changing according to the mindset of the supporting community. The orientation and lifestyle of the community would support various artifacts as a support to strengthen the existence of activities which were carried out. Rituals were part of the Balinese lifestyle by carrying out customary and religious activities. The needs of ceremonial which had function to support rituals inspired the craftsmen to develop their creativity to create new, more unique, artistic, and interesting works. The aim was to explore the discourse of people’s lifestyles nowadays. The research method used was qualitative method with analytical descriptive analysis through sociology approach. The process of data collecting used observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the dynamics of the global life of the Balinese Hinduism Community were pluralism, and there were still stored so many strong religious life orientations that were implemented in various ceremonial and religious ceremonies that were increasingly lively. Rituals became a part of the lifestyle of society to show identity and social positions of the community, which was supported by the use ofluxurious and elegant ceremonial facilities. Besides the purpose to present the best and most beautiful offerings to the almighty God, the means of ceremonies became the standard of living of the people as a cultured and religious person. This had an impact on increasing the productivity and economic value of artisans. This research was expected to be used as a reflection by the Balinese people that a ritual could not be used as a lifestyle, but it was a sincere offering to seek balance and harmony of physical andspiritual.
