Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the process of making bumper music and illustration music for the Dharma Wacana Bali TV program. The making of new music for the program is because the ones that are still being used today have been used since 2002. That's the reason why Bali TV wants to update the music. Another reason for making this music is to show changes and updates to the Dharma Wacana program. The implementation of this music making goes through several stages, namely the preliminary stage, observation, music making, review, and completion. The preliminary stage discusses plans for making new music for the program. The observation stage was carried out by observing the old bumper music as a reference for making new music. Music creation is done using music production software. The review stage provides an assessment and input. At the completion stage, the music is uploaded to Google Drive and sent to partners. Gathering information about the Dharma Wacana program was carried out with the producers of the program. The result of making this music is bumper music using Balinese instruments with the addition of a string section and adapted to the old bumper video. The illustration music is made using only Balinese instruments by slightly adopting the works of gender wayang. The results of interviews with Dharma Wacana’s producer are an overview, the preparation process to production, as well as the program's broadcast time. The music in the Dharma Wacana program highlights the nuances of Bali in order to strengthen the atmosphere in the show. Keywords : Dharma Wacana, bumper music, illustration music
