Abstract

This article is used to introduce a musical composition with the theme of Tri Hita Karana into a cappella form. Acapella is a vocal performance without using other instruments, but only with the singer's own voice and usually also using foot stomping, clapping, or finger snaps. This work is entitled Gandara Hita which is a work that consists of three parts with a total of 6 singers. Gandara Hita's work rifer to five initial stages, namely preparation, elaboration, synthesis, concept realization, and completion. Gandara Hita's work is a vocal composition combining Balinese musical idioms, Indian vocal techniques, and Western vocal techniques. The cultivator borrowed Balinese musical idioms such as the kotekan pattern, pentatonic scales, and Balinese vocal style. On Indian vocals borrowed vocal ornaments Kan-swar, Meend, and Khatka. In Western Vocals, he uses classical/serious voice colors, humming techniques, and drone. Gandara Hita's work tells about the process of realizing harmony/Hita in which the content/meaning of this work is conveyed through Balinese lyrics and supported by other musical elements. In addition, the stylists also make modulations in certain parts to avoid the impression of watching, and the stylists try to play rhythm patterns, melodies and dynamics to be able to produce new creative musical works.
