Abstract
Various types of ancient porcelain dishes, currently still many installed and a marker of the identity of buildings royal left in Bali. This study aims to describe the aesthetic values of plate ornaments and recommend that they can be preserved. The approach used descriptive qualitative and data collection is done by observation, interview, and documentation. Sampling uses a limited theory of porposive sampling. The analytical approach uses the aesthetic theory of Monroe Beardsley, consisting of unity, comlexity, and intensity studies. The results show ceramic plate ornaments on royal buildings in Bali has a pretty good aesthetic values. This is seen in the unity among the elements of the motifs displayed on each plate object. The unity can be seen from the form and coloring. The dominant ornamental forms show dynamic, symmetrical and asymmetric curved lines. The element of unity in coloring can be seen from the colors on each ornament plane adjusted to the shape and mutually support one with the other. The complexity is not too prominent seen in the forms of motifs, seem simple but still beautiful. While sincerity can be seen from the appearance of the form with a clear and clear lines without any doubt. The composition of shapes and coloring motifs show good regularity, so as to create a sense of beauty to the audience. Keywords: aesthetics, ornaments, plates, remains, kingdom.
