Abstract

The existence of people’s performing art in Kedu was highly determined by what is needed by the people who supported it. The people’s dynamism caused performing arts to play various roles, and the artists to be creative. The artists’ creativeness led to various specific forms of performing art to appear. The existence or sustainability of the performing art in Kedu was mainly supported by numerous ceremonial and non ceremonial activities performed individually and collectively. The way in which generation intentionally or unintentionally shifted to generation also strengthened it. Keywords: Existence and performing arts
