Abstract
This article describes the influence of the concept, system, and element of the western conventional musical elements on the colonial era. It does not only aim at describing where Minahasa traditional music can be found but also at indentifying whether the concept and its application has changed or not, and at identifying to what extent the Minahasa Musical Structure has been influenced.
