Abstract

This article is the result of research in Santi traditional village, 2010, in which the author examines Babuang Dance performances from the social side religious. Dance Babuang including sacred dance as a symbol of the god Brahma (Ba), Dewi Pertiwi (Mother) of land and Vishnu (Ang) (babuang). Babuang Dance Performance carried out during the coming days Ngusaba Ngina once every year at Temple in the village of Santi Puseh. Ngina Ngusaba ceremony was a day of worship of the god Vishnu in the temple Puseh. The series of this ceremony cannot be separated with Babuang dance and ceremony are not perfect, if it is note performed Babuang dance, even the ceremony said to be successful. When performing dance Babuang cannot also be separated by Tari Rejang Flowers. The dancers Babuang consisting of village elders / traditional village prajuru, stakeholders, and citizens as manners village and two persons cadet / youth group. At Babuang dance performances, there is social value religious namely the dancers lined up and that was at the front are the stakeholders, village elders, followed by other dancers who come from villages and youthful group manners. When dancing, the dancers must not precede each others let alone ahead of front row, because there is a Dalem priest, Puseh temple and Singarata and village elders. When the dance begins the public as spectators are not allowed to stand, the audience should be calm to the sanctity of this dance in which obviously to see the highly visible social value of the religious.
