Abstract
The aims of this research are: to describe the forms of Cera Leppa ceremony or the ceremony of new boat released to offshore among the Bajo community. To find out the function of Cera Leppa ceremony among the Bajo community in Petoaha Village, Kendari. The forms of the data are qualitative and quantitative from the study with the title ‘the form dan function of Cera Leppa ritual’ or the ceremony of new boat released to offshore among the Bajo community by using qualitative and quantitative data. The analysis is conducted in four steps, namely a) arrange the units of data collected from the interview, observation, literature studies, focus group discussion, divided one by one, collected on accordance to the fractions, and then perform data reduction in order to eliminate the irrelevant data, making abstraction and compile the data units, b) categorize the data, c) develop the relation between categories, comparing the data, interpret the meaning and function of each data relation, and d) interpret and describe the relation between the data that have been grouped in order to find out the meaning, function, as well as its conclusion.
