Abstract

Abstrak Anak penyandang cacat fisik sering kali diremehkan, dijauhi dan dikasihani sehingga peran mereka di masyarakat sangat dikesampingkan. Sehingga anak penyandang cacat ini perlu rehabilitasi yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi keterbatasan dan ketergantungan akibat kecacatan yang di derita, serta menumbuhkan kemandirian hidup dalam masyarakat. Serta banyaknya anak cacat fisik yang disembunyikan orang tua karena malu terhadap kecacatannya, sehingga diperlukan media komunikasi visual yang mampu menyadarkan para orang tua untuk merehabilitasi anak penyandang cacat fisik mereka. Melalui metode penelitian, Data-data yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara, kepustakaan dan dokumentasi di Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan (YPK) Bali disesuaikan kembali dengan strategi kampanye. Teori yang digunakan dalam studi ini adalah teori perilaku konsumen dan semiotika menurut Pierce dan Barthes. Kemudian diolah melalui analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan sintesa sehingga diperoleh konsep dasar desain. “Pengharapan” merupakan konsep dasar yang digunakan pada proses perancangan media komunikasi visual untuk Kampanye Rehabilitasi Anak Cacat Fisik. Konsep tersebut sesuai dengan pengharapan dari orang tua dan anak penyandang cacat fisik untuk memperoleh kehidupan yang lebih baik. Dalam proses mendesain, telah ditentukan media yang efektif dan komunikatif yaitu Logo Event, CD-ROM Interaktif, X-Banner, Poster, Flyer, T-Shirt, Tas Kain, Mug, Stiker dan Katalog. CAMPAIGN OF DISABLED CHILDREN’S REHABILITATION AT DENPASAR Abstract Disabled children always being underestimated, avoided, and pitied until their role in the society are ignored. These children need rehabilitation which aim to decrease their limits and dependence as the consequence of their disablement, and also to grow their autonomy in living in the society. There are also many disabled children are being hidden by their parents who embarrassed of the disablement, therefore it is needed visual communication media which could realizes the parents to rehab their disabled children. Through the research method, the data which obtained by observation, interview, and documentation at Yayasan Peduli Kemanusiaan (YPK) Bali are adjusted to the campaign strategy. The theory which was applied in this study was Consumer Behavior and Semiotic Theories by Pierce and Barthes, and analyzed by descriptive qualitative method, and synthesized until the basic concept design was achieved. “Hope” is the basic concept which is applied in the process of designing visual communication media for the campaign of disabled children’s rehabilitation. The concept is appropriate to the expectation of the parents and disabled children to get a better living. In designing process, it has been determined the effective and communicative media, such as event logo, interactive multimedia, x-banner, poster, flyer, t-shirt, cloth bag, mug, sticker, and catalogue.
