Abstract

COLLABORATION AS A MODEL OF CREATIVITY IN BALINESE CONTEMPORARY MUSIC Oleh: I Gede Arya Sugiartha Abstract In Bali, religion, art and culture are fused with daily life. There are no religious ceremonies without art and culture. In the ceremony of Hindu Balinese Temple is well known as piodalan, usually used traditional music. The piodalan is not only as a religious festival, but also as social occasion, and a theatrical event. On this occasion, playing of traditional music is to support the religious atmosphere, to accompany the dance and the theatre. Balinese traditional music is used as personal entertainment. Playing music for the Balinese besides has religious value, also as a personal relaxation. The musician gets a wonderful experience while playing music. For Balinese musicians the terminology contemporary is understand into two dimensions such as ideology and as the concept of musical composition. As ideology the term of contemporary music is used to understand the character of compositions which usually motivated by exploration continuously to produce the new form. As the concept in Bali we have three concept creating music, classical with new arrangement, new creation, contemporer. Creativity in general can be observed from three dimensions, those are person, process, and products. Local genius Balinese Artist in Creativity, taksu (inner power), jengah (competitive pride). Collaboration is one model of creativity is often in the compose of contemporary Balinese music. Collaboration in addition to creative value in terms of process also contains the value of respect to the diversity, and equality in a parthnership.
