Abstract
Ashram Vrata Wijaya is a Balinese Hindu Ashram focuses on the thoughts of Jnana Buddha shiva. The architecture designs and elements that exist within Ashram Vrata Wijaya is the architectural elements which adapted from the Ashram Lembah Bayam located in Tabanan village, Bali. This paper begins when explores deeply on the architectural design and shape of Ashram Lembah Bayam in a wide area, it is far away from the crowds in a remote areas with a unique architecture and symbols that are happening, arises from the arts of Balinese people life, which includes fine arts (sculpture, painting and decorative arts), architecture, and interior.
At those subdivision of arts, some icons can be found with references to a real and abstract objects adapted from mythological stories that later as an indicator in the adaptation form of the Ashram spatial layout that was built in an urban area with a dense residential and limited land, but still able to present an Ashram without forgetting the architectural important elements in the architecture of an Ashram.
This paper uses the phenomenological study approach, which appears to be a phenomenon of the object filled with transcendental meaning. In everyday social world where human life is always an inter-subjective and full with meaning. The phenomenon which is understood by human beings is a reflection of a transcendental experience and understanding of the meaning. In the phenomenological context, the ashram spatial layout is a space of transcendent experience from a spiritual teacher and became a conviction for the students (Bakta).
