Abstract

Lakon Dewaruci merupakan salah satu cerita pewayangan yang mengandung nilai moral sekaligus nilai religius. Nilai moral dapat dilihat dari bagaimana ketaatan seorang murid (Bima) kepada gurunya (Pendeta Drona), sedangkan nilai religius dapat dilihat bagaimana usaha seorang manusia (Bima) untuk menemukan jatidirinya sekaligus upaya pendekatan diri kepada Tuhannya (Dewaruci). Dilatarbelakangi oleh pemikiran tersebut, maka lakon Dewaruci dirancang sedemikian rupa oleh Tim Peneliti MP3EI sebagai pola batik, dengan tujuan ‘mengawinkan’ dua hasil kebudayaan warisan dunia menjadi satu tema yang saling mengisi. Pengemasan desain batik dengan mengambil sumber ide dari cerita wayang kulit purwa diperlukan sosialisasi yang komprehensif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kaji tindak dan memerlukan tindakan kreatif inovatif terhadap pengolahan potensi sumber daya manusia, sosial ekonomi, seni budaya, dan alam desa tempat para perajin batik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa enam adegan pokok lakon Dewaruci yang diterapkan sebagai desain batik ini dapat tampil berbeda dengan desain-desain terdahulu yang diproduksi oleh sentra-sentra batik di eks-Karesidenan Surakarta. Dengan demikian, penampilan desain ‘baru’ ini di samping dapat mengingatkan kembali kepada masyarakat tentang nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang tersirat dalam lakon wayang, juga dapat memperkaya pola batik nusantara. The Character of Dewaruci of Works of Art is the batik designs The character of Dewaruci is one of the puppet story that contains moral values and also religious values. Moral values can be seen from how the obedience of a student (Bima) to the teacher (Reverend Drona), while religious values can be seen how the efforts of one man (Bima) to find his identity and also as efforts to approach to his God (Dewaruci). Motivated by these ideas, then the character of Dewaruci was designed in such a way by the research team of MP3EI as batik pattern, with the aim of ‘marrying’ two world heritage cultural products into one theme that is complementary. Packaging of batik design by taking the source of ideas from puppet story purwa required comprehensive socialization. Therefore, this study applies action research approach and requires innovative creative actions towards the potential treatment of human resources, socio-economic, cultural arts, and village of batik artisans. The results showed that the six principal scene of the character Dewaruci was applied as the batik designs may appear different from previous designs produced by the centers of batik in ex-Surakarta. Thus, the appearance of this new design of this ‘new’ can remind the public about the values of local wisdom implicit in the puppet character, and also can enrich batik pattern archipelago.
