Abstract

Lubdaka story is one of Balinese literature which contributes specific value to everyone who ever know the whole story of it. The story background which relates to Siwaratri festival, makes it more familiar, especially for Balinese people. This reason may reveal the various forms of translation based on the story of Lubdaka written by Mpu Tanakung, and those forms of translation is expected more understandable to the common readers of the story, from youth up to adult generations. The existence of these various translations has a great impact to the intrinsic aspects found in the story. These translations should share the appropriate values and messages of the story to everyone who read the translation of Lubdaka story which can be taken from the used of intrinsic aspects such as theme, message, characters/figures, plot, setting and writer point of view. Through this research, researcher analyzes intrinsic aspects which found in the Lubdaka story; observes the implication of translation towards to the retention of intrinsic aspects with the caused factors; besides to find out the main values from the whole data related to the translation of Lubdaka story. The data used in this research is Lubdaka lontar, and the translations forms the Lubdaka story in the forms of bebaosan, satua and puppetry performing. The discussion of the problems research is explained through qualitative method, using formal method. The conclusion shows that each of translation forms from Lubdaka story have the similarities and differences intrinsic aspects found in the story. These are affected by the understanding and interpretation of each translator to deal with the story content of Lubdaka lontar, which caused few shifting of intrinsic aspects found in in some forms of translation Lubdaka’s main meaning cannot be separated from the theme and the message of Lubdaka lontar, although there is the difference interpretation between one translator to another, the story meaning has keep the same as the original story of Lubdaka lontar. Simbolic values found in the story have significant influences towards intrinsic aspect in the story of Lubdaka.
