Abstract

Traditional dance represents substantial knowledge and great experiences from the distant past that should not be ignored nor blindly followed. The underlying issues are the adeptness of these traditional dance elements in present times, and the suppleness of its artistic values in inspiring future dance creation. The nmain challenge for later generations involves the use of the old forms as groundwork for new creativity without loosing its essence. Most importantly, the legacies of traditional dance have continued to exist given continuous innovation and creativity, to which impart pride and identity to its creator and nation. The endless reinterpretations would uphold the tradition further in accordance to the spirit of the present time.
