Abstract
This study aimed at describing more specifically the dance learning process which was assumed to develop the child’s plural intelligence. Qualitative descriptive method was used in this study. The data were analyzed using ethnography. The data were analyzed following the steps in ethnographic research proposed by Spradley. He states that there are four types of analysis; they are domain analysis, taxonomy analysis, componential analysis, and thematic analysis. The results of the study showed that the learning activity of Gajah Melin Dance could develop the kinetic body intelligence, the musical intelligence, linguistic intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, natural intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, and spatial intelligence. Based on the results of the study, it is suggested to the Ministry of Education and Culture that it should increase and pay more attention to the art competence of the kindergarten teachers and pupils. Similarly, LPTK in general and PGTK Department in particular should give their students things which are related to arts in general and the learning process of the pupils as part of what can be done to develop the plural intelligence.
